Quaint funny nice service

One of my most vivid memories in Germany, this quaint corner bar with its steep gabled exterior and warm, friendly interior has stood for centuries, and feels lived in without being worn or weary. I was introduced to this establish through a co-worker who happened to be in Bremen at the same time, and who has often gathered with his hometown friends to grab a pint and reminisce on all they have missed during their years apart. I felt welcomed by their company, as well as the staff and the local regulars who call this pub their home turf. There is a romantic, old world quality that I can't express, other than by saying the Spitzel Gebel feels familiar, even as a first time visitor. It feels like a community, even to a stranger. One might say I feel a sort of hybrid fernweh/heimweh (farsickness/homesickness) to return to this distance place where I felt like I was coming home.

Cult pub

From my point of view, a meeting in the restaurant is highly recommended. Not only the attentive restaurant staff was the total hit during our visit, but also the good climate. The restaurant is really extremely tastefully decorated. No cheap decoration, but most of it was color-coordinated very nicely. Here it has never happened to us that a dish came cold on the table. The choice of drinks leaves nothing to be desired.

Small smoking bar, cozy and definitely try the "sip from the lamp"!

Decoration in the squares and in the whole restaurant is sensible and stylish. The toilet is always clean and all in all, the restaurant gives a charming impression. Exactly perfect to be able to plaster a dessert afterwards. The waiters are always hard-working and always courteous! We think the prices are also absolutely ok.

Small place but cozy and friendly staff. Be aware, cash only.

It has never happened to us here that a dish was not served warm on the table. The selection of drinks also left nothing to be desired. I can really recommend this restaurant! The armchairs are extremely comfortable and I find the distance between the tables extremely adequate. There you don't get the feeling of dining like sardines in a can, and you get both: friendly and quick service.

Sluk ut de Lamp .. every year

To be able to call yourself "Bremer" you have to have stopped over and enjoyed the house drink. No coming over!

Because it is so small, it quickly becomes cozy. Even if you think it's full, you'll still find a place.

Always nice to have a few beers and a sip before the Werder Bremen game.

Always nice people met from everywhere. Authentic pub no less. Small, tight, horny. Beer!!! And sip from the lamp!

Classic Bremen "Kneipe" (bar) directly around the corner from the market place, behind Schütting (Bremen's historical chamber of commerce). Drop in for a beer or two, special house spirits are available. Bar personell is kind and always up for a chat. Weekend evenings it's usually packed full here.

Quaint and fun in a special way. Nice staff, but somehow inappropriate music. You should have tried the sip from the lamp, but it is not for the faint of heart: D

Nice old pub. Service was friendly, just had a quick wine and beer before dinner. Nice little place to sit outside but nothing special when it comes to menu.

The lady in the bar was very friendly! Cozy little pub with very good prices. Highly recommended.

Onlyhad a beer and a schnaps "aus der Laterne". certainly worth a visit if you can squash yourself in. Not suitable for large groups. Smoking permitted.

MUST TRY "Sluk Ut De Lamp" AND "Rusty nail .. red spicy" It was a place for ship brokers and shipping business people in bremen hung out and doing business in the old day ( I was told). This place can fit 20-25 people shoulder to shoulder "smallest bar in bremen" but germany seems to have smallest bar in every city... must see
